~ English vowels and consonants ~
First of all to understand linking, it is important to know the difference between vowel sounds and consonant sounds.
Vowels : a e i o u
Consonants : b c d f g h j k l m n p q r s t v w x y z
The list ^ shows the letters that are vowels and consonants. But the important thing in linking is the sound, not the letter. Often the letter and the sound are the same, but not always.
Linking Vowels to consonant ..
For example, the word "pay" ends with:
the letter "y"
the vowel sound "a"
Here are some more examples:
though+ know ends with the letter h w and ends with the sound o and o
uniform + honest begins with the letter u h begins with the sound with the sounds of y and o ..
Linking consonant with vowels ….
When a word ends in a consonant sound, we often move the consonant sound to the beginning of the next word if it starts with a vowel sound.
For example, in the phrase "turn off":
We write it like this: turn – off
We say it like this: tur – noff ..
Remember that it’s the sound that matters. In the next example, "have" ends with:
the letter "e" (vowel)
the sound "v" (consonant)
So we link "have" to the next word "a" which begins with a vowel sound:We write it like this: Can I have a bit of egg?
We say it like this: Ca-nI-ha-va-bi-to-fegg?
Vowel To Vowel Linking:
When one word ends with a vowel sound and the next word begins with a vowel sound, we link the words with a sort of W or Y sound.
If our lips are round at the end of the first word, we insert a W sound:
We write it like this: too often + who is + so I+ do all
We say it like this: tooWoften + whoWis + soWI + doWallIf our lips are wide at the end of the first word, we insert a Y sound:
We write it like this: + Kay is + I am + the end + she asked
We say it like this: + KayYis + IYam + theYend + sheYasked

Qualities Of A Good Person – The Source
Kind, helpful, caring, understanding, patient, and loving are some of the words that come to mind when asked to list the qualities of a good person. One usually knows a person is good by what they do, such as performing thoughtful deeds. A good place to look for insight on the qualities of a good person is God’s Word, the Bible.Qualities Of A Good Person – Show Kindness To All People
The Bible instructs us to give to those in need – that is one of the qualities of a good person.“Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God” (Hebrews 13:16).
“Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give generously to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them” (1 Timothy 6:18).
It is easy to show mercy to people we like and those in need. However, a person who possesses the qualities of a good person should also demonstrate mercy and kindness to their enemies.
“And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, what good is that? Even sinners will lend to their own kind for a full return. Love your enemies! Do good to them! Lend to them! And don’t be concerned that they might not repay. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are wicked. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate” (Luke 6:34-36).
Qualities Of A Good Person – Obeying the Law
One of the most important qualities of a good person is obeying authorities.“Remind your people to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good” (Titus 3:1).
“Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. All governments have been placed in power by God” (Romans 13:1)
Qualities Of A Good Person – Is It Enough for Heaven?
Someone can have all these qualities of a good person, but still not make it to heaven! The Bible says that good deeds do not save people from sin. Salvation is only possible through God’s mercy and grace.We have all sinned (Romans 3:23) and no amount of good deeds can save us from our sin (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Bible says that we are all sinful and not worthy of God’s standard of perfection. Instead, we deserve death as punishment for our sin (Romans 6:23).
God made a way for us to be forgiven of our sin and that is through His sinless Son, Jesus Christ. He sent His Son Jesus to earth to die for our sins and provide a way that we can spend eternity with Him in heaven (2 Corinthians 5:21). He is offering You His free gift of eternal life; will you accept His gift?
If you would like to accept Jesus Christ now, pray a prayer similar to this: “God, I realize I am a sinner and cannot work my way to heaven by being a good person. I repent of my sin and ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Your Son Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust in You for salvation. I accept Your free gift now. Help me to obey You and begin growing in my walk. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
The Bible says that if you accept Jesus Christ’s gift of eternal salvation, then you will spend eternity with God in heaven. “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
